Language in Zambia

English is the official language of Zambia, used in government, business, and education. Additionally, there are over 70 local languages spoken across the country. The most widely spoken indigenous languages include Bemba, Nyanja, Lozi, Tonga, Kaonde, Luvale, and Lunda. In urban areas like Lusaka and the Copperbelt, Bemba and Nyanja are particularly prevalent.
